SMACNA Sacramento Valley

  • About Us

We’re the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractor’s National Association of Sacramento Valley (the trade association for unionized sheet metal and HVAC contractors across Northern California).

That’s a mouthful, so here’s the simple version: we’re the engineering nerds who make your buildings breathe. From the air you’re breathing right now, to the ducts that survived the last earthquake, to the operating rooms that need hospital-grade air flow… if it involves sheet metal and HVAC, odds are our contractors had something to do with it.

  • Who We Work With

We partner with SMART Local 104, the union that represents the highly skilled men and women who fabricate, install, and maintain the systems that keep buildings safe and comfortable. Together, we cover a big chunk of California — from Sacramento all the way north through Alpine, Placer, Yuba, Lassen, Shasta, Modoc, and beyond.

  • What We do (besides nerd out on ductwork)

Negotiate contracts so our contractors can focus on running jobs instead of running to the bargaining table.

Train the best workforce in the country through a 5-year apprenticeship that produces world-class journeypersons and forepersons.

Keep jobsites safe — because nothing matters more than sending everyone home in one piece.

Advocate for our industry at the Capitol, in the community, and anywhere HVAC nerds are needed.

Write the standards — literally. The State of California uses SMACNA manuals when writing building code, and ours are often stricter than the state’s. (Yes, we’re those people.)

  • Why It Matters

When you hire a SMACNA contractor, you’re not just hiring a company. You’re hiring a contractor with access to the smartest engineers, the most rigorous training programs, and the highest safety and quality standards in the business.

We’re proud to represent the contractors and workforce who make Northern California’s buildings more comfortable, more efficient, and built to last. And yes, we’re proud to be the nerds who make it happen.
